The current movie [motion picture] rating system needs to be reviewed. The main purpose of the rating system is to categorize films based on age-appropriateness, the goal of the Motion Picture Association of American’s (MPAA’s) rating system is to prevent the youth from watching explicit scenes. However, the rating system’s ability to reduce youth’s exposure to harmful content is questionable
