Family Code (FC) section 4320 enumerates 14 factors for the court to consider in awarding spousal support to a supported spouse from a supporting spouse. I think they are all important, but the degree of importance is also reflected on their sequence in the enumeration. The first on the list is the earning capacity of both parties to maintain the standard of living from during the marriage.
