Week 6 Assignment Questions Answer

Exordium
The purpose of the exordium is to identify the testator, determine that he/she is has the capacity to create a will, ensure that the document contains the testator’s last will, and provide the location of the testator’s residence. The residence of the testator determines which court should handle the estate and which state can tax the properties.

Revocation
The main purpose of the revocation clause is to ensure that the past wills will be revoked after the creation of the new will. Although in most states a new will can revoke prior wills, adding the revocation clause in the exordium ensures that it will happen.
