Describe what you think the role of the artist should be in their community
Every artist plays a significant role in the community and can even contribute to the development of people’s well-being. For instance, artists are considered creative thinkers and thus, can offer their communities inspiration, interaction, and joy. Hence, artists can also play as individuals who can provide thoughtful ideas and critique the current social, political, and economic systems. Artists should realize that they can engage community members to become part of social progress (Artwork Archive).
An ideal project that an artist could create within a community
An ideal project that an artist could create within a community should enhance their awareness of a pressing community or social issue. For instance, an artist can initiate a project that will help increase people’s awareness of domestic violence, and how it can be prevented in the community. This project can be done by exploring the issue in a painting, song, or theatrical performance. A good example would be Daniel’s life goal in the film “As it is in Heaven” wherein he wanted to create music that helps people open their hearts (IMDb).
