This assignment is worth 125 points. For each day the assignment is late 13 points will be deducted.
The economic crisis in America, over the last few years, has affected everyone, especially healthcare facilities. Healthcare cost has increased more than the rate of inflation for many years. Medicare is trying to find ways to reduce costs. One of these ways is called Value-based purchasing (VBP). This program was authorized by the Patient Protection and Accountable Care Act of 2010, and gives the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (this is the part of Medicare that sets the reimbursement rates for Medicare) the power to base a portion of hospital reimbursement payments on how well hospitals perform on treating patients and on patient satisfaction scores. This paper will be divided into 3 parts. Each part will be graded and returned to the student with corrections and suggestions. The student will incorporate the changes into the final paper. The final paper will be a combination of each part with the changes and will be 10 to 15 pages long; not counting the title page and reference page. Part 3 of the paper is worth 125 points and should be 3 to 5 pages long. All three parts will make up 30% of your grade. The topics for part 3 are
