• Discuss the potential consequences on cellular mitosis if a mismatch and repair gene is missing or inoperative

If mismatch occurs during the process of cellular mitosis, cell growth and cell reproduction will be interrupted. In the same manner, missing repair gene will result to disruptive cell behavior which often identifies with the incapacity of information to be successfully passed on to the new cells which were supposedly created or repaired. In most cases, these disruptions establish prolonged effect on the general function of mitosis in the body. With one disruption on top of the other, the development of cancer often comes into the picture. The accumulation of cancer cells, when not immediately treated, can lead to development of cancerous tumor which will affect other operations in the body in a rather rigorous condition.
