The problem of crime in the United States is an ongoing issue that requires effective solutions. Protecting the lives, safety, and security of the people is a paramount goal of the criminal justice system. Community-oriented policing (COP) and problem-oriented policing (POP) are two of the most significant approaches to addressing crimes across the different areas in the country. Since the adoption and implementation of POP, the government had already invested billions and even improved the skills of police officers when it comes to identifying the problems and developing effective solutions. Similarly, the adoption and implementation of COP had also created multiple positive outcomes in preventing crimes and enhancing trust in police organizations. Both approaches have their respective methods but these strategies are similar in terms of addressing crimes in communities, which are applicable especially in this modern policing.
