Two of the principles of respectful, responsive, and relationship-based care and education are for the caregiver to model the behavior that she wants to teach (Principle 7) and recognizing problems as learning opportunities and letting infants and toddlers try to solve their own. The former means that the educator must live by example. She must practice what she preaches. By modelling the behavior herself, the toddlers and infants would learn the intended behaviour easier.
