The peer-reviewed academic journal entitled Generation Gaps: Changes in the Workplace due to Differing Generational Values, tackles the impact of generational gap in today’s workforce. It is no secret that the present workplaces are multi-generational, which means that the older and younger employees interact with each other. This reality results to challenges as each generation is unique. For instance, the older employees are already nearing their “retirement phase.” That is why their priorities are very different compared to the younger employees. According to the authors, the lack of communication and understanding between the generations contribute to existing issues in organizations. The problems are the consequences of differing attitudes, goals, priorities, and values. The paper is an academic paper. Prior to its publication, it was subjected to peer-review, which means its contents are reviewed thoroughly by subject matter experts. Likewise, the authors are targeting professionals in the management field; hence, the authors used technical terms in the paper. Students who are interested in learning about the current trends and issues in the workforce can also use the material. In the paper, the researchers investigated the four main generations present in organizations: the Veterans, the Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y.
