1. Identify the kinds of communication that distinguish a group from a team.
2. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of face-to-face and virtual teams and describe ways to address the disadvantages.

• authoritarian leadership style – leadership style characterized by individual control over all decisions and little input from group members.
• coercive power – a formal power source, where influencing agents use the threat of force to gain compliance from targets of influence.
• Cohesiveness – the quality of sticking together, or of causing things to stick together.
• contingency approaches to leadership – a leader’s effectiveness is contingent on whether or not their leadership style suits a particular situation.
